The pair of lambs to the left illustrate how the flock is evolving to produce lambs with excellant meat qualities. The pair won the Ryeland Section of the Welsh Winter Fair 2006. Newburn carcasses consistently get U graded carcasses which is pretty impressive!
The ewes lamb at the beginning of february having been sheared around a month before and kept indoors.
We sell very few pedigree sheep -selling just three at the Show and Sale in the history of the Flock-. Those sheep that have been sold include the Newburn 2006 show ewe lamb which won at the Royal Welsh and Burwarton and then took top price in it's section at the sale (making almost twice as much as the second highest priced!) We also sold a Yearling ewe at the Sale in 2005. The ewe made £480 after the sale making it the highest priced female at the sale and as far as I know, ever!
